Few Set up & Breakdown things...

Just to re-iterate Interior you will need to have everything packed down on the Tuesday 29th June as the Retreat will re-open at 10am on the 30th.

PD we have the Sports Hall until 12pm on the 30th June.

Those who are using the hire tables these will need to be left in the sports hall ready for collection.

I have been assured by Jongors that we will be getting the tables first thing on Monday 21st morning at 8.30am and they will be picking them up on Wed 30th in morning.

Printing updated

Hello

Just to update you from meeting, DEC will not charge you for the printing of your names that go accross the top of your boards.

However there may be cost involved in printing of your images as post below.

I was asked to remind you that there will be some costs involved for printing on the more expensive high gloss paper when printing you images for your stand at the festival.

Board Painting

To clarify you will not need to buy the paint, we will will do this and provide this for you.

Students will need to paint their boards I suggest that only a few of you say 4 / 5 do this at a time as we have to put tarpaulin down to make sure we don’t get paint everywhere.

Please can you make sure you clean your brushes after use and let Brian know when you are finished. We can not keep replacing brushes that are ruined because they have not been cleaned.

Boards can be painted next week Tuesday – Thursday 9am – 8pm Brian Wright is the contact for painting of boards.

Health & Saftey Training

I have arranged the sessions with Adam Wright to be at the following times in P405 next week 14 - 18 June.

Sessions are at 11 - 12pm or 2 - 3pm

Product Design – Monday
Industrial Design – Tuesday
Interior Design – Wednesday
Design Engineering – Thursday
CAPD - Friday
MAT - Monday 21st 1.30pm (changed from 9.30am).

If any of your coursemates are unable to attend the sessions at those specific times just let me know Adam is flexible next week but we will need to book a room to use.

Note that ALL students must receive Health & Saftey manual training before they are allowed to set up their stand at the show.

Profile Photoshoot

Hello

Student Reps I have sent you an email with an appointment schedule for photoshoot for the profile images for the brochure.

The photoshoot will be in the evenings during week 24 - 28th May 5.30 - 7pm, Melbury House, Lansdowne Campus, however you will need to follow the instructions I have sent and work together to complete the schedule.

I need one completed schedule back to me by Wed 19 May.Do let me know as soon as possible if there is anyone who has a valid reason as to why they can't attend during that week.

Hi

Just to let you know that for PD and Interior Design Students we have had to hire tables from an external company to use during the festival.

PD & Interior Design students will therefore get one 30" Square table each to use during the festival.

I have a sample of the table in my office P311 if you would like to come and have a look.

The rest of you will be able to use the tables that are available in the rooms that you will be using. We'll also discuss this at our next student rep meeting.

Santander Design Grand-Slam, Fodi 2010

The deadline for entering the Santander Pitching event is Friday 2nd April 4.30pm. All students participating in Fodi will be required to attend the event which is taking place during Fodi to support your coursemates who enter (more information is in your student guides/student rep guides).

However if you would like to apply to enter you will need to be enrolled on the Bournemouth University's Commercialisation Programme with a relevant design-related project. For a form, or if you have any questions about this event or commerialisation programme please contact Phil Robinson probinson@bournemouth.ac.uk.

Deadlines & Next Student Rep Meeting

The deadline for copy is still 16th March. I'll be in P311 in 16th and student reps you can drop off your CD's then. If I am not in there for any reason please drop the CD off to Emma Kranz in the admin office (P315) who will put in my pigeon hole.

Further to our student rep meeting we have extended the image deadline to 27th April as the current deadline falls within the easter holidays.

The next Fodi Student rep meeting will be Wednesday 28th April at 1pm in PG10.

Creative Concept ideas

Thank you for all those who have submitted an idea for the creative concept of FODI 2010. The deadline for this has now passed and the designs that have been received have been sent to the design team.

They will be shortlisting ideas on the 4th February and we will contact those whose ideas have been shortlisted next week.
